How do I get my bridal veil wrinkle-free?

Getting married soon? Here are the last steps for your perfect wrinkle-free wedding veil.

Many brides (and bridesmaids ;)) know the problem: the wedding veil made of fine fabric quickly gets wrinkles. But no problem: here you can find out with which tips & tricks you can get your wedding veil wrinkle-free without damaging it.

Hack 1) Let's get steamy with a steam iron

Probably the safest method to get your wedding veil wrinkle-free is to steam it with a steam iron. Tip: Depending on the veil model, let the heavier wire comb or the heavier edge hang down.

1. Use a steamer and hold it about 10-15cm away from the fabric.
2. Ideally, there is a wall, door, or other barrier behind the tulle so that the steam does not escape directly.
3. Move over the veil in slow, circular motions, gently stretching the fabric.
4. Simply let the steam gently pull through the tulle – done.

Hack 2) Two in one – showering and steaming at the same time

If your bathroom allows it (and you are a hot showerer), this is also a safe method to smooth your wedding veil. Tip: Here again, let the heavier part of the veil hang down.

1. Hang the veil on a wide hanger in your bathroom – don't forget to close the door.
2. Take a hot shower and enjoy the steam around you and the veil.
3. After 15-20 minutes, the fabric should have visibly smoothed out.
4. Simply leave it hanging overnight until it is dry.

Hack 3) No steam, no problem – ironing with a delicate touch

If you don't have a steamer at hand, an iron also works. With a little finesse and a thin cotton cloth, e.g. a tea towel over the veil, you can simply iron it like other clothes. Tip: For wedding veils with embroidery or pearls, we recommend the first two options, for veils made of pleated fabric we recommend option 2.

1. Set your iron to the lowest temperature
2. Place a thin cotton cloth between the veil and the iron
3. Gently iron over it in circular motions – done
